Costa Rica

Passing thru Costa Rica

18hr bus journey and I have entered illegally lol.

semi-overcast

This leg of the journey was tough I was so glad that I bumped in to a group of Germans who I met when trekking up the Volcano and they were also going in the same direction as me. Travelling on your own is cool in some parts as in you can do whatever and whenever but the downside that I have experienced is the long haul travelling and the boarder crossing can be daunting if you are on your own. So we had to get to the Costa Rican boarder which was so relaxed that they did not even stamp my entering stamp. We got on a bus to ‘’ and then from here we got on another bus towards San Jose. The boys had got off half way and I was left until I got to my destination. I was grateful to have met a local who spoke really good English and helped me to get to the Tica bus Terminal in San Jose. Had my left over pizza for dinner at the bus terminal and Ricardo who worked at the terminal was helpful and gave me wifi to use as I was without internet for a couple of days….and trust me you feel so unconnected with everyone. I was also glad that I only had to wait 2hrs until my bus had left Costa Rica towards Panama City. So arriving at the boarder was not a breeze we were there for a good 4hrs! When leaving the Costa Rican boarder they said I had come in to the country illegally as my passport was not stamped and I thought oh shit! But thank god the guy allowed me and let me go. Finally I arrived in Panama City, where Prison Break was filmed I was so looking forward to seeing this country but I was hit with some serious traffic…I was back in a metropolitan city. For 10 minute journey it took me 30minutes and the guy did not drop me to the right place lol. Eager to just get in a hostel I managed to locate one and I was glad!
